Clean Room Construction designed, built and commissioned a new research and development facility for the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge.
The 4,300m2 project incorporated academic office accommodation, laboratories, workshops, seminar, study and lecture theatres along with common areas and courtyards for social events.
CRC designed, supplied and commissioned laser laboratories, general research and manufacturing laboratories, mechanical and electrical workshops and naturally ventilated offices and common areas. In addition CRC was responsible for ancillary plant areas, gas bottle stores and distribution systems/gas detection systems, process cooling water plant and distribution systems, biomass plant and automated fuel delivery and waste systems, water cooled VRF systems and sophisticated energy-saving lighting controls.
The IfM is a pioneer of collaborations between academics, industrialists and policy makers to address the full spectrum of industrial issues.
