Close control zone - Lancaster
Lancaster University appointed CRC to convert an existing cleanroom to a close control environment suitable for Electron Beam Lithography.
The close control zone had to meet EN ISO Class 5 and CRC utilised its close temperature control solution to meet the requirements. The project involved the supply and installation of new close control fan filter units over the close control zone and the removal and reinstatement of ceiling to install a ducting system. Laminar flow curtains and a controls system to serve the fan filter units were also supplied and installed by CRC. Following the modifications, the close control zone achieved a specification of +/- 0.1 degree Celsius.
Ranked in the UK top 10 and the global top 1%, Lancaster University has an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. Its Quantum Technology Centre in the Faculty of Science and Technology is a world class facility accessed by academic users and industry who are working to translate quantum technologies into pioneering new products and processes.
