Clean Room Construction (CRC) was appointed the design and build specialist contractor by CIT Technology in Cambridge for a new cleanroom facility aimed at increasing the company's manufacturing and development capacity.

The new cleanroom facility consisted of 800m² cleanroom and laboratory areas designed to ISO Class 6 and 7, 1,300m² of support areas including mezzanine offices/plant deck, chemical area and a plant area above a section of the cleanroom.

CRC managed the design and construction of the project which included modular partitioning and modular suspended ceilings with integral recessed low-energy compliant light fittings. The scope included fully integrated air conditioning and filtration systems as well as full system monitoring. CRC managed all mechanical services plus the installation, testing and commissioning of all the electrical services.

The company is particularly active in the development and volume manufacture of flexible additive copper circuits, RFID antennas, capacitive touch sensor for mobile devices and other printed electronics technologies.
