Histopathology laboratory buildings - Weybridge
Two new histopathology laboratory buildings were engineered by Clean Room Construction for the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) to facilitate research.
Clean Room Construction Ltd (CRC) was employed as the main contractor on a full turnkey basis to design and build two independent buildings for research purposes. The scope included handling all civil work and design and construction of the host buildings on a brownfield site as well as responsibility for the internal fit-out through to commissioning and handover.
The internal fit-out included all mechanical and electrical services, HVAC systems and controls including specialist waste dust extraction, MBSC, safe change units, pathology stations and fume cupboards.
Defra is the UK government department responsible for policy and regulations on environmental, food and rural issues. It is supported by 36 agencies and public bodies including the Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA).
