Fast-track solution for IVF clinic upgrade
Clean Room Construction (CRC) has completed a successful upgrade of facilities at a leading London IVF clinic in just 15 working days.
The modifications to the clinic’s laboratories and theatre within the top London hospital were needed to enable the unit to comply with the air quality requirements of the EU Tissues and Cells Directive. The aim of the directive is to minimise contamination between gametes and embryos, the general environment and the practitioner.
There was a strict three-week deadline to complete the work in order to minimise the downtime in the busy IVF clinic.
CRC’s fast-track solution included the installation of standalone humidification, heating and cooling systems to reduce the centre’s reliance on central services, which were prone to seasonal shutdowns. In addition the roof-mounted air handling unit has been upgraded.
As a result of the upgrade, the 100 sq.m facility now provides Grade C background cleanliness levels, has individual room temperature control and comprehensive room pressure monitoring.
