CRC seals multimillion-pound cleanroom contract
Clean Room Construction (CRC) has been awarded a £3.7 million contract to design and build a state-of-the-art cleanroom facility on behalf of Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS), a pioneering medical technology company in Cheshire.
The 12-month contract to build a 4,000m² facility for AMS follows a competitive tendering process. AMS are based in Winsford and develop advanced wound care dressings containing silver and seaweed and tissue adhesives for wound closure. The company supplies them throughout the NHS in the UK and globally through a network of distributors and partners.
Detailed design work began in January and work on site is due to commence in April, with completion scheduled for the end of 2009.
This latest contract follows hot on the heels of other major design and build projects which have been completed by CRC. These include the prestigious Cambridge Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (CAPE), production cleanrooms and laboratories at Shield Medicare’s new manufacturing facility in South Wales, a new Class 1000 cleanroom facility for Cambridge Display Technology - a leading developer of technologies based on polymer light emitting diodes - and the Centre for Nanoscience at the University of Cambridge.
